If you are like me, then you already are thinking about where you would like to venture off for the summer. I LOVE travelling; it feeds my soul and makes my heart happy.
I have been fortunate enough to see many places, but still have a long way to go to satisfy my passion. Since I research everything, I think it is only fair to share my adventures and tips with my lovely readers.
Last summer, I had the pleasure to visit Prague and I was totally blown away by the beauty of this city. The way the hills of greenery are connected to the metropolitan area with beautiful bridges over their rivers is startling. It has so many hidden neighborhoods to discover and each corner has a lovely story to tell.

Another great thing about this charming city is that you don’t need to break the bank in order to have a luxury experience in Prague. That is why it is a big attraction to a younger crowd from other European cities.
I recommend staying close to Old Town Square and taking their metro or bus to other parts of the city. I stayed at the beautiful Buddha-Bar Hotel and I loved my Dharma Suite. Everything in the hotel like their bar is dimmed and you feel inspired by Buddhism from the moment you walk in. They serve an amazing breakfast each day and every afternoon sorts of chocolate is delivered to your room.

The beauty of Charles Bridge was mesmerizing and luckily it was just a few minutes of walking from my hotel. Make sure to experience the bridge both during the day and night.

Prague Castle is a must; I was so taken away by the architecture and space of this fort. It is situated on top of the city where the whole Prague is beneath you.I had never seen such a grace by any other castle I have visited before. It would have been nice to be a princess then 🙂

Make sure to go the St Vitus Cathedral as well. The gothic style buildings are remarkable and you can really feel the power of their kings back then by the facade of each structure.

If you are artsy like I am, you have to visit the Kampa Museum. It is a very modern gallery with a wonderful garden and breathtaking rooftop overlooking the river. The art collection was impeccable as well. If you have time, go to the Franz Kafka monument where each phase of Kafka’s life is on display. The design of the gallery is very interesting, like his novels dark and mysterious.

For a mid day break to go the Bakeshop a few steps after the Kafka museum where everything is delicious and home made. Take your goodies to the park in front of the bakery and enjoy the scenery while nourishing your belly. Their chocolate cookie definitely satisfied my sweet tooth.
Prague has so many restaurants and cafes to choose from, but many of them are too touristy, at least for my taste. One place that I found and still dream about is Hergetova Cihelna. The menu is Mediterranean and their fish was mouthwatering, they also have a remarkable wine list. However the greatest thing about this eatery is its terrace and view. It sits on Prague’s Vltava River, overlooking Charles Bridge and is magnificent during the sunset. Make sure to make a reservation beforehand and request outside seating.

If you have more time to spare in Europe and would like to visit an additional city close to Prague, Vienna is a great option. It is only a few hours by train and is also a beautiful town to explore.
