Some NYC Suggestions

NYC-1

I am back from New York and I am full of new suggestions. I go to New York City often for both business and pleasure. However, I had never been there during Fall and oh man the city was beautiful. The trees are mixed of so many hues, colorful leaves have swept the island and the weather was amazing. Since Manhattan is ever changing I always try to check out new places every time I go.

Central Park
Central Park

Central Park to me is a gem in one of the busiest cities in the world. So it is nice to be close to it when you want to hide from the hustle and bustle. I recommend staying at 1 Hotel Central Park which is fairly new. Their location is perfect and I am in love with their design and concept. The property is environmental friendly that highlights the beauty of nature in their design and is ultra luxurious. Their restaurant is farm to table and all the ingredients they use are organic. The aroma of this hotel does not want to make you leave once you step in it.

If you are a burger lover like me you have to check out Lafayette in NoHo. Their brisket burger is to die for and comes with the crunchiest fries. It is also good for large parties, which is hard to find in the city.

For a casual traditional Italian American cuisine go to Parm in Upper West Side. As mentioned in my previous posts I like to have cheat days in my diet and this place was the perfect place. They have amazing mozzarella sticks, crispy zucchinis and mouth-watering sandwiches to choose from. But the highlight of my night was their ice cream cakes. I tried their classic and tiramisu and both were unreal.

If you have time to go outside of the city, go to Storm King Art Center and Park. It is only an hour or so drive from Manhattan and the drive is very nice. It features about 128 sculptures from incredible artists on a 500-acre site. Living in Southern California for couple years now and I had forgotten what true Fall looks like. I really was mesmerized with the beauty I saw from different colors and shades in this park. I don’t think I had ever seen so many tints of orange, red, and yellow. The sculptures are incredible also, each placed perfectly all over the park.

During the day if you are around Meat Packing District check out Chelsea Market; an indoor marketplace with lots of shops, eateries and grocers. Then after your stomach is full go burn off the calories by walking on renowned railroads of The High Line.

Let’s not forget the amazing shopping in New York, which is the best place for my illness 🙂
