Santorini just took my breath away; it is a little slice of heaven on earth that I suggest for everyone to visit.

I do recommend staying in the towns along caldera (Oia, Fira, Firostefani and Imerovigli), which are located on the cliff overlooking the volcano. We stayed in Oia and I believe it is the best choice. It is the most romantic town with the best hotels, surreal views and fantastic restaurants.

Choosing a hotel, you cannot go wrong with Katikies Hotel. The word amazing does not do this hotel justice. It is the most beautiful hotel perched at the edge of the sea with astonishing views. The interior is all white, it has three swimming pools, and its main restaurant is very intimate with only a few tables. Their employees go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible and are very personal. We were upgraded to the Katikies Suite, which made our stay even more wonderful. Basically words are not enough for me to explain this outstanding hotel.
The hotel makes it very hard to leave during the day but we managed to get out one day and hired a private boat to go around. The island is heavenly and the water is so clear and crisp. The private boat tour is something different to do but we did not think it was worth the tag price.

First night, we dined at the Katikies Restaurant, Mikrasia. As mentioned before it has only a few tables with one server that makes your experience so special. It has a four-course menu and every item is incredible.

For more of a local and casual spot try Katina’s in Ammoudi Port. Make your way down the harbor before sunset to experience the magical colors of the island while having dinner. Their main dish is catch of the day and is priced by the kilo. You will eat the freshest fish at this charming tavern.

We wanted to dine out of Oia one night so our hotel recommended us to eat at Metaxy Mas. As soon as you step to this restaurant you feel mesmerized. It is situated on the highest point of the island with remarkable views. The atmosphere is delightful and the food tastes home cooked. The lamb and the octopus with fava beans are a must.
If you are looking to have a romanic sunset dinner book a table on the balcony of Ambrosia. The view is spectacular and the menu is contemporary Mediterranean.
